I want to take a minute to talk about a very serious issue in Arizona namely Boating Operating Under the Influence. Did you know in Arizona every year there are many boating fatalities directly tied to alcohol? Three hundred and fifty people were arrested in Arizona in 2007 for operating a watercraft while under the influence of alcohol. Boating while drunk laws are the same as driving and there is a .08 limit. And yes it is illegal and very dangerous. Please designate a boating operator who will not drink at all.

The best way to combat this problem and prevent needless deaths is through Boating Education by the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Arizona Boating is a great and fun past time. But please be safe and educated and follow all laws. If you are too busy to take a boating education class in person you can even take a Boating Education Online class.
