I love being out in the country. One of the main reasons is that I can actually see the night sky without the lights of the city hindering my view. If you are a lover of the night sky you need to attend the 5th Annual Dark Sky Festival. The 5th Annual Dark Sky Festival will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2008 in Harmony’s Town Square, in Harmony, Florida. The 5th Annual Dark Sky Festival begins at seven in the evening. This festival is in the spirit of helping the environment and making a positive change in our world.
Telescopes will be available to view the stars. Another fun activity will be a kids zone area and story tellers. The Myths in the Night as well as light pollution will be covered. Music will be provided by Rare Earth who is a Motown recording artist. Sponsors of the event include the Harmony Institute, the Visitors Bureau, the Kissimmee Convention, many different astronomy clubs, the Osceola News Gazette, and the Florida Travel & Life Magazine.
Food and specialty booths will also be present. It should be a great time. Please visit the Dark Sky Festival web site today for more information.
