The stock market is up today on positive September job growth news. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 123 points up .88 percent with 40 minutes left in trading for the day. The NASDAQ was up 46 points up 1.68 percent with forty mintues left in trading for the day. Microsoft (MSFT) game developer Bungie Studios (the producers of Halo) announced they will be forming a new independent company with Microsoft retaining a stake. Most of my stocks were up for the day with Apple Inc (AAPL) up 2.15 percent for the day for a total 1 year gain of 61.41 percent and Lowes (LOW) surprisingly up almost 3 percent for the day (still down 12.72 percent for the year). Other noteables were Emerging Markets Telecommunications Fund Inc (ETF) up 2.45 percent for the day up 19.35 percent for the year. My overall stock holdings are now up 24.38 percent for a two year period or just over 12 percent per year.
