The markets plunged today. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down 4.42 percent for the day down 504.48 points. The Nasdaq was down 81.36 points down 3.6 percent for the day. This was thanks to the Lehman Brothers bankruptcy notice and the fact that HP will cut almost 25,000 jobs in a merger with Electronic Data Systems Corp. The United States financial system is struggling. That was bad timing for bad news.
