Friday was another terrible day in the stock market. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down almost two hundred and fifty points for a loss of 1.8 percent and the NASDAQ was down over forty eight points for a similar loss of over 1.8 percent. All of my individual stocks were down for the day with Disney stock (DIS) down over 2.3 percent and Apple Inc (AAPL) down over 2.4 percent and Emerging Markets Telecommunications Fund Inc. (ETF) down over 3.1 percent for a total loss for the day of almost 1.9 percent. The markets appeared to be effected by Countrywide Loans announcing that they would layoff over twelve thousand jobs and uncertainly on the Fed cutting rates and other poor economic and job news such that employers reduced their payrolls instead of increasing them in this quarter.
