Are the credit bureaus really protecting your best interests? Or do they have other motivations? You have seen the commercials for life lock on TV and this seems like a great way to fight fraud. One of the major credit bureaus Experian is now challenging LifeLock saying “credit laws do not provide for a third party to place fraud alerts on behalf of a consumer.” This would basically challenge the LifeLock service of fraud alerts. LifeLock also opts out members from pre approved junk mail and provides other services. The LifeLock services are created to protect consumers. Credit reporting agencies do not like this because it may decrease their profits. Consumers should be able to choose for themselves.
