It looks like the Presidential Race is all but over. With the recent win and close loss Obama is the clear victor. Clinton will of course never give up….until she does or is forced to. The United States of America needs to switch to all hybrid electric cars immediately. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished up 51.29 points up .40 percent. The Nasdaq gained 19.19 points up .78 percent for the day.

So Yahoo has successfully fought off Microsoft. But at what cost? Many of the investors in Yahoo are reportedly not happy. Many expect Yahoo’s stock price to plummet on the news. Many of the Yahoo shareholders are left only with questions as to why such a good offer and even a raised offer was flat out rejected. If Yahoo wouldn’t sell for less than $37 per share and Microsoft was offering $33 per share why would they not split the difference at $35 per share? Only time will tell.

Today was surprisingly positive. The markets rose on reports that the price of oil was falling and the value of the dollar was rising. Food prices and gas prices continue to rise. Exxon (poor babies) missed expectations posting only a measely $10.9 billion dollar profit PROFIT. Craigslist and eBay are now in a legal battle with more lawsuits soon to be whizzing away. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended up 189.87 points up 1.48 percent for the day. The Nasdaq ended up 67.91 points up 2.81 percent for the day.

Have you heard about the Dockers contest? The Dockers TV Commercial Contest is an exciting contest over a product that everyone loves. You can submit your own Dockers commercial. If you are selected as a finalist then the commercials that get the most votes can win a chance to see their commercial run live during the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. You must create a thirty second commercial for Dockers. This is only available to legal residents of the United States of America over the age of eighteen and not affiliated with NBC or participating companies or related to any of their employees. The submission deadline ends on May 29, 2008 so get your video in quickly. Finalists will be announced around June 1, 2009 with the Grand Prize Winner announced by June 13, 2008. Submissions must be in Quick Time .mov format, Windows .avi format, or .mpg format. It is interesting that Windows Media .wmv is excluded as are other formats. I did not see any quality requirements. I will definitely be entering this contest as I love the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and I love Dockers. My favorite video submitted so far is this one. I am sure there will be many more to come though.

What started out as a good day was smashed after the Fed meeting. The Fed did cut the key interest rate. The cut was .25 which was expected. At first the market reacted strongly after being up nearly 1 percent for the day prior to the meeting. Things quickly turned south however. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down 11.81 points down .09 percent giving back all gains. The NASDAQ was more of the same loosing gains ending down 13.30 points down .55 percent for the day.
