Oil is at $123 a barrel. Reaching ever higher prices Oil is now at $123 a barrel with gas prices soon to follow. The price climb is based on supply interruptions and well price gouging. The United States of America needs to switch to all hybrid electric cars immediately. The Dow Jones Industrial Average finished up 51.29 points up .40 percent. The Nasdaq gained 19.19 points up .78 percent for the day.

Today was surprisingly positive. The markets rose on reports that the price of oil was falling and the value of the dollar was rising. Food prices and gas prices continue to rise. Exxon (poor babies) missed expectations posting only a measely $10.9 billion dollar profit PROFIT. Craigslist and eBay are now in a legal battle with more lawsuits soon to be whizzing away. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended up 189.87 points up 1.48 percent for the day. The Nasdaq ended up 67.91 points up 2.81 percent for the day.

What started out as a good day was smashed after the Fed meeting. The Fed did cut the key interest rate. The cut was .25 which was expected. At first the market reacted strongly after being up nearly 1 percent for the day prior to the meeting. Things quickly turned south however. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down 11.81 points down .09 percent giving back all gains. The NASDAQ was more of the same loosing gains ending down 13.30 points down .55 percent for the day.

The stock marked ended mixed for the day. The Fed rate decision Wednesday caused some obvious anxiety. The job market is still doing poorly. Countrywide reported an 893 million dollar loss in the first quarter. Will Bank of America Still buy them? The global food shortage and global inflaction continues. Things are looking rough. The Dow ended down almost 40 points. The Nasdaq was up about 1 point.

The markets started down today. Consumer confidence is at the lowest level in five years. The home forclosure rate has increaqsed one hundred and twelve percent and home prices are down almost thirteen percent. The Fed meeting is coming up soon. President Bush yelled at Congress over the economy. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 26 points with 3 hours left in trading for the day. The Nasdaq was down 6.9 points with three hours of trading left.

The economy is looking very bad. Many states are showing recession such as Arizona which has a 3 billion dollar deficit over the next two years. With poor tax collections including property tax and sales tax it can only get worse. It is only a matter of time until a nationwide recession hits.
