The markets ended down today. The price of Oil continued up. In a silly move General Motors is increasing prices of their 2009 models instead of producing all hybrid vehicles. 
The Fed is expected to leave interest rates unchanged tomorrow. I guess we are just in that glut of summer way of thinking. Hopefully things will improve in September.
Oil continues to rise. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 30 points with 2 hours of trading left for the day. The Nasdaq was down 2.74 points with 2 hours of trading left for the day. One company that I have long followed, Allied Waste; announced that they will be purchased for just over 6 billion from Republic Services. This should be an interesting week.
This is a huge blow. Citigroup has announced that they will be cutting jobs. The jobs will be cut from investment banking. Thousands will be let go. Things are not looking good. Oil prices and gas prices do not seem to be slowing. I hope we can get some good news this week.
The markets are down today on bad financial news. FedEx delivered dissapointing results with a loss in the fourth quarter and Morgan Stanley profit is down. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 78 points so far with 4 hours of trading left in the day. The Nasdaq was down 19 points with 4 hours of trading left in the day.

Even though Saudi Arabia has promised to increase production. Oil still hit a new record. Wow $139.89 a barrel is a record. Things are getting crazy. The Dow Jones ended down 38.27 points down .31 percent for the day. The Nasdaq ended up 20.28 points up .83 percent.

On Friday the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 165.77 points. Word is that oil production will finally be increasing. There is a lot of financial news expected this week. It could be a rough week. Hopefully we will see some improved housing and credit data.
