Have you heard about the USA Network’s new original series In Plain Sight? It is supposed to be really good. The plot of this series is a little quirky; almost as quirky as the characters in this series. My favorite character is Marshall Mann. He even has a quirky name. What a good Marshal man Marshal Mann is! I see him being the major love interest in the show. He reminds me a lot of my quirky uncle Steve Stekvers. The markets turned around today for surprising gains. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed up 45.68 points up .36 percent for the day. The Nasdaq ended up 5.46 points up .22 percent for the day. General Motors Corp is planning more layoffs and changes in an attempt to fix their company. Oil is still a slippery slope. What will next week bring?

Good news in the housing market helped boost the markets today. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 23 points up .19 percent for the day with 1 hour of trading left for the day. The Nasdaq was up 19.96 points .82 percent for the day with 1 hour left in trading. Even though home sales increased in April, home prices are down 14.1 percent the biggest drop in twenty years. Consumer confidence is at a sixteen year low. Still no word on the Microsoft Yahoo deal. Hopefully we will see things turn around soon.

Keeping with a trend, Friday’s on the stock market are usually bad. You can blame it on investors not wanting to hold investments over the weekend and limited trading activity. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended down 145.99 points for the day down 1.16 percent. The Nasdaq was down 19.91 points down .81 percent for the day. Gas prices meanwhile continue to climb.
